The group, led by its Convener, Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, gave the commendation in a statement issued to Journalists in Abeokuta on Tuesday released through its State Director of Media & Publicity, Oluseun Joshua.

Akintunde described Senator Adeola’s emergence as well-deserved, citing his long-standing commitment to progressive politics and his contributions to the development of his senatorial district.

According to him, the choice of Senator Adeola as the party’s consensus candidate underscores his popularity and credibility within the APC in Ogun State.

He further praised President Tinubu for his fatherly role in backing Adeola’s candidacy, as well as Governor Abiodun for supporting his emergence as a successor ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The emergence of our leader as the APC consensus governorship candidate in Ogun State is expected, given his outstanding record of service, particularly in Ogun West Senatorial District.

“I sincerely appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the leader of our great party, for supporting the aspiration of Ogun West to produce the next governor of the state.

“Historically, Ogun West has not produced a governor since the creation of the state. This development reflects fairness and inclusiveness. I also commend Governor Dapo Abiodun for making this possible during his tenure.”

Akintunde added that the development signals is a continuation of progressive governance in Ogun State, similar to “Lagos model” of sustained development and transformation, he called on residents of the state to support Adeola’s candidacy in the forthcoming election.

“We appeal to all well-meaning residents of Ogun State to come out en masse to support and vote for Senator Solomon Adeola popularly known as Yayi in the 2027 governorship election.
