In a statement issued by its Ogun-East Senatorial Coordinator, Hon. (Dr.) Babatunde Oyetola Diya, the group described Adeola’s emergence as a well-deserved recognition of his longstanding commitment to the APC and his contributions to the development of Ogun State.

The movement also commended Governor Dapo Abiodun CON for backing the consensus decision, noting that the governor publicly endorsed Adeola at a recent APC caucus meeting held at the party secretariat in Abeokuta on Monday, 13th April, 2026.

Diya said the development reflects unity within the party and aligns with Governor Abiodun’s earlier pledge to support a successor from Ogun-West Senatorial District.

“On behalf of members and all local government coordinators of the City Boy Movement in Ogun-East senatorial district, we commend Governor Dapo Abiodun for taking this expected step in supporting Senator Solomon Adeola as the party’s consensus candidate.”

He further noted that the presence of key party leaders, including former governors such as Olusegun Osoba, at the caucus meeting underscores the cohesion within the Ogun All Progressives Congress.

“From our father and leader, Chief Olusegun Osoba, to the current governor, the unity within our great party is evident. This signals a renewed progressive journey as we approach the next election”.

Adding that Senator Adeola’s emergence is not only a recognition of his past efforts but also a sign of continued progress for the state.

“Ogun State is poised to witness sustained development, building on the achievements of past and present administrations. Senator Adeola’s emergence will further strengthen the existing foundation for future growth,” he said.

“I congratulate our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON and Distinguished Senator Adeola Solomon. I also rejoice with our party leadership in the state for reaching this stage of consensus. This will not only promote the unity of our great party but also add significant value to its growth across the state.

“As we approach the forthcoming governorship election in Ogun State, I urge all the good people of the state to vote massively for all candidates of our great party, from the presidential level down to the State House of Assembly, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress,” – Diya urged.
