Popular Nollywood actress, Adunni Ade, has threatened to institute legal proceedings against a Nigerian blog over what she described as the deliberate misrepresentation of her social media posts concerning the birth of her daughter.
The actress made her position known through a post on her Instagram post where she accused the unnamed blog of consistently twisting her comments and online content for several years.
According to Adunni, the latest controversy stemmed from the publication of a report that allegedly merged two separate TikTok posts and comments, thereby creating a misleading narrative about her recent childbirth announcement.
She expressed displeasure over what she termed a sustained campaign of ridicule and bullying, claiming that the blog had repeatedly targeted her for more than a decade.
“For over 10 years, you have consistently tried your hardest to bully and ridicule me,” the actress wrote, alleging that previous attempts to resolve the issue amicably had yielded no positive result.
Adunni further revealed that she had issued several warnings to the blog in the past, including one as recently as last year, but said her patience had now been exhausted.
The actress insisted that she possesses evidence to support her claims and would be prepared to present such materials before a competent court.
She questioned the rationale behind combining two separate posts and comments into a single report, arguing that such action distorted the original meaning of her statements.
Declaring her intention to pursue legal redress, Adunni said she was prepared to allow the judicial process determine the matter.
The actress also alleged that the blog had profited significantly from stories linked to her name and public profile over the years.
In her strongly-worded statement, she maintained that accountability must prevail and that media platforms should be held responsible for the accuracy of information they publish.
The development comes shortly after Adunni publicly announced the birth of her daughter, Baby Sal, a revelation that attracted widespread attention across social media platforms.
The actress, who is of Nigerian and American heritage, is also a mother to two sons, Ayden Young and D’marion Young, from a previous relationship.
Adunni had previously disclosed in an interview that she was never married to the father of her older children, explaining that she ended their eight-year relationship because it was no longer viable.
As of the time of filing this report, the blog accused by the actress had not issued any public response to the allegations, while fans and industry observers continue to monitor developments surrounding the dispute.
