..Dismiss rumours of Joju Fadairo’s withdrawal of support
..Pledge unity ahead of 2027 governorship election
Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun West Senatorial District have applauded the party’s leadership in Ogun Central Senatorial District and Ifo Local Government Area for swiftly addressing rumours surrounding the political stance of elder statesman, Chief Joju Fadairo, on the 2027 governorship aspiration of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.
The commendation followed a strategic meeting of the Ogun West APC Apex Leadership held at the residence of its chairman, Chief Mufutau Ajibola, where party elders and stakeholders reviewed recent developments within the party ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The meeting was attended by members of the Governor’s Advisory Council from Ogun West, including Chief Olu Agemo, Chief Bisiriyu Popoola, Alhaja Salimot Makanjuola-Badru, Chief Lai Taiwo and Chief Maltida Iyabode Apanpa, among other party leaders.
Speaking on behalf of the group after the meeting, APC chieftain and member of the Ogun West Apex Leadership, Hon. Kayode Oladele, described the intervention of the Ogun Central and Ifo APC leadership as timely and effective in dispelling what he called misleading reports regarding Fadairo’s political allegiance.
Oladele said the clarification had helped reinforce confidence among party members and supporters across the state, while also strengthening unity within the APC.
According to him, Chief Fadairo remains a respected political leader in Ogun State whose commitment to the APC and support for Senator Adeola’s governorship aspiration have never been in doubt.
He dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that the elder statesman had withdrawn his support for Adeola and defected from the APC, describing such claims as false and politically motivated.
Oladele alleged that the rumours were orchestrated by opposition elements seeking to create confusion within the ruling party and gain political advantage ahead of the 2027 election cycle.
He commended the leadership of the party in Ogun Central and Ifo for promptly addressing the controversy and providing clarity on the matter before it could generate unnecessary tension among party faithful.
The APC stalwart expressed confidence that support for Adeola’s governorship ambition continues to grow steadily across the three senatorial districts of Ogun State.
He maintained that the momentum behind Adeola’s aspiration remains strong in Ogun West, Ogun Central and Ogun East, adding that no amount of misinformation would derail the political project.
Oladele further urged party members and supporters across the state to remain united and focused on the collective goal of securing victory for the APC in the 2027 governorship election.
He stressed that the current political atmosphere calls for reconciliation, cooperation and renewed commitment to the ideals and objectives of the ruling party.
The Ogun West leaders also announced plans to embark on a solidarity and appreciation visit to their counterparts in Ogun Central Senatorial District and Ifo Local Government Area.
According to Oladele, the visit is intended to formally express gratitude to the leaders for their prompt intervention and unwavering commitment to the unity and stability of the APC in Ogun State.
He noted that the Ogun West leadership considers it necessary to acknowledge the role played by their counterparts in protecting the integrity of the party and standing firmly behind Senator Adeola’s governorship aspiration.
The controversy emerged following reports suggesting that Chief Fadairo had withdrawn his support for Adeola and aligned with the governorship ambition of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Hon. Ladi Adebutu.
However, Fadairo subsequently refuted the reports, describing them as false and misleading while reaffirming his loyalty to the APC and support for Adeola’s governorship bid.
Party leaders in Ogun West said the clarification has further strengthened confidence in the viability of Adeola’s governorship project and reassured supporters across the state.
They expressed optimism that the growing acceptance of Adeola’s aspiration, coupled with sustained party unity, would position the APC strongly ahead of the February 2027 governorship election.
The leaders also called on party faithful to intensify grassroots mobilisation, maintain regular engagement with the electorate and work collectively towards consolidating the party’s strength across Ogun State.
They concluded that with unity, discipline and a shared commitment to the party’s objectives, the APC would emerge stronger and better positioned to secure victory in the 2027 governorship poll.
