Kehinde Bello, in honour of Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) following their emergence as candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the party’s recent primaries.
The event, tagged “Ileya Unity Gathering Thanksgiving Celebration,” took place at Palm View Estate, Ijebu-Ode, attracting a large turnout of party faithful, community leaders and well-wishers from different parts of the state.
The gathering was organised to appreciate God for the successful conduct of the APC primaries, which produced Governor Dapo Abiodun as the party’s candidate for Ogun East Senatorial District and Senator Adeola as the APC governorship candidate for Ogun State.
Addressing guests at the event, Hon. Bello described the celebration as an opportunity to give thanks to God for His grace and guidance over the lives and political careers of the two leaders.
He commended Governor Abiodun for what he described as his remarkable achievements in infrastructure development, economic growth and people-centred governance, noting that the administration had continued to attract investments and position Ogun as one of Nigeria’s leading industrial hubs.
Bello expressed confidence in the electoral prospects of the APC candidates, pledging the commitment of party members and supporters towards ensuring their victory in the forthcoming elections.
“As we approach the next elections, Governor Dapo Abiodun has emerged as the APC candidate for Ogun East Senatorial District, while Senator Olamilekan Adeola has emerged as the party’s governorship candidate. We are fully committed to ensuring their victory at the polls,” he stated.
The OGEPA boss also lauded Senator Adeola for his legislative record and grassroots-oriented programmes, saying his contributions had positively impacted many communities across Ogun State.
According to Bello, Adeola’s years of public service and commitment to developmental initiatives have earned him widespread support among residents of the state.
In their separate goodwill messages, Hon. Samsideen Lawal, representing Ogun Waterside State Constituency, and Hon. Lukman Adeleye, representing Odogbolu State Constituency, praised the leadership qualities of both Governor Abiodun and Senator Adeola.
The lawmakers noted that the duo had consistently demonstrated commitment to good governance, economic development and the welfare of the people.
They described the thanksgiving gathering as a symbol of unity and appreciation, stressing that such events help strengthen political cohesion and promote collective aspirations among party members.
The speakers also commended Hon. Bello for bringing together stakeholders from different parts of the state to celebrate what they described as a significant milestone for the APC.
Special prayers were offered during the event for the continued success of the state government and for wisdom and strength for the political leaders.
Religious leaders also prayed for lasting peace, unity and prosperity across Ogun State as preparations begin for future electoral contests.
