…Transparency Framework Ensures Direct Payment to Parents’ Verified

The Olowo Oloye Foundation for Empowerment and Education has announced the sponsorship of another 50 Senior Secondary School (SS3) students of Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Iperu Remo, for the 2026 external examinations to be conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the National Examinations Council (NECO), and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The development follows a similar intervention in 2025 when 50 SS3 students of the school benefited from the Foundation’s scholarship scheme, which fully covered their registration fees for the three examinations.

Encouraged by the success of the initiative, the Foundation has now completed the compilation of another 50 eligible students for the 2026 sponsorship.

The Project Coordinator, Mr. Victor Gbolahan Oso, in a statement signed by Temitope Oyekan, Consultant on Media to Dr. Madein, is scheduled to visit Christ Apostolic Grammar School on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, to formally address parents and selected students on the modalities of the sponsorship programme.

The scholarship scheme, fully funded by the Foundation under the leadership of its Founder and Chairperson, Dr. Madein, was deliberately structured to support indigent students as well as those who have demonstrated discipline, seriousness, and outstanding academic conduct, reflecting a balance between need-based support and merit recognition.

As part of its accountability measures, the Foundation has collected the bank account details of parents of the selected students. Upon authentication of examination registration by the school management, payments will be credited directly into the verified accounts by officials of the designated bank to ensure transparency and efficiency in disbursement.

Each beneficiary is expected to receive N80,000 to cover examination registration fees, broken down as N30,000 for WAEC, N40,000 for NECO, and N10,000 for JAMB.

The Foundation’s broader educational support initiative had earlier in the current academic session seen over 100 students drawn from three public secondary schools in Iperu Remo — Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Akesan Community Grammar School, and Ajagbe High School — awarded scholarships and educational materials.

Beneficiaries received notebooks, school sandals, textbooks, branded school bags, Mathematics kits, and school uniforms.

Established four years ago by Dr. Madein, the first female Accountant General of the Federation, the Foundation was founded in memory of her late father, Alhaji Surakat Oyebanjo Sanni (Olowo Oloye), former Seriki Adeen of Iperu.

On May 1, 2025, the Foundation celebrated its Founder’s retirement from the federal civil service alongside its third anniversary with a major community outreach programme themed “Giving Back to Society,” marking three years of sustained impact in promoting inclusive access to education, empowerment, and community development.

Since inception, the Foundation has focused on payment of monthly stipends to elderly women, entrepreneurship empowerment for women, farmers and youths, provision of scholarships and school supplies, organisation of literacy programmes, skill acquisition training, micro-financing support, advocacy for gender equality and children’s rights, as well as community development initiatives in healthcare and clean water access.

During last year’s outreach programme, the Foundation conducted a medical outreach that provided diagnostic tests and essential healthcare services to over 500 community members. It also presented scholarship award letters to beneficiaries from the three public secondary schools for the 2025/2026 academic session and distributed palliative items to vulnerable residents.

Additionally, the Foundation sponsored the Akesan Day Celebrations Free Medical Programme in November 2025 and donated an ICT Centre to the Iperu community.

Speaking on her commitment to sustained service, Dr. Madein, an alumna of Christ Apostolic Grammar School, expressed delight at dedicating her post-retirement years to community development.

“Upon my retirement from the federal civil service, I am thrilled to dedicate my time and energy to giving back to society. This intervention programme is part of our commitment to making a positive impact in our community,” she stated.

The Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to building empowered communities where individuals have access to opportunities that enable them to reach their full potential.
