Alaafin absent as Makinde inaugurates council of Obas in Oyo

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade was visibly absent on Thursday during the inauguration of the Oyo State Council of Obas.

Salient Times reports that the council of Obas has been moribund for the past few years.

It was learnt that the council was not effective during the tenure of the immediate past governor, Abiola Ajimobi.

He had announced the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja as the Chairman of the council.

Salient Times, however reports that Owoade was absent at the inauguration held Thursday.

The reason for his absence has not been revealed as of the time of filing this report on Thursday.

Salient Times report that despite Owoade’s absence the event was attended by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja.

Other traditional rulers at the event are; Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye and Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Samuel Adegboola.
