The popular Ogun State political group, the Omoluabi Movement, convened by Iperu-born real estate magnate and political mobilizer Armstrong ’Tope Akintunde has congratulated the people of Iperu and Governor Dapo Abiodun on the successful hosting of the 2025 Akesan Day celebrations.

Iperu, hometown of the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, witnessed yet another colourful and memorable edition of the age-long cultural festival, held at the Apollo Ground in the heart of the town.

The group commended Governor Abiodun, describing him as a proud son of the soil whose leadership style has helped to promote Iperu’s culture and enhance the town’s visibility among other communities in Remoland.

Convener of the movement, Armstrong ’Tope Akintunde, highlighted the significance of the annual Akesan Day, describing it as a sociocultural event that unites all Iperu indigenes at home and in the diaspora.

“Our annual Akesan Day celebration has now attained international recognition, attracting high-profile personalities to Iperu,” Akintunde said.

“I sincerely commend our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his unwavering support. What we witness today during Akesan Day is the result of collective effort and the exceptional leadership prowess of our tireless political icon and Governor.”

Akintunde further described Prince Abiodun’s political disposition as a vehicle for reformation and renewal, noting that the governor’s vision reflects a deep commitment to transformative governance driven by both human and natural resources.

Speaking on the emergence of the Omoluabi Movement, Akintunde emphasised that the group represents more than a political alignment. Rather, it is a clarion call for responsible leadership and civic participation; an example of purpose-driven, inclusive, and transformative politics.

“As Ogun State continues to evolve under the visionary leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun, our movement, the Omoluabi Movement; will remain vital in shaping its future, anchoring politics not on self-interest but on service, values, and the collective good.”

Akintunde also appreciated the efforts of the movement’s coordinator, Hon. Olusegun Kaka, alongside other leaders across the state, for their dedication and commitment to strengthening the group.

This year’s Akesan Day celebration was attended by numerous political figures, community leaders, youths, chiefs, and Otunbas, under the leadership and support of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
