The Ogun State chapter of African Democratic Congress (ADC) is to hold a crucial meeting in Abeokuta on Wednesday following its choice by the promoters of the Coalition of Political leaders to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidency and at the State Level.

The meeting, which will discuss the outcome of the coalition discussion with the national body of the Party will according to the State Chairman of ADC, Dr Femi Soluade to also brief the members of the Party and coalition partners on the progress made so far.

It could be recalled that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and ex-governors Nasir el-Rufai, Rotimi Amaechi, and Kayode Fayemi – have settled for the ADC as the preferred platform for a grand coalition to unseat President Tinubu APC in the country and at the State level.

The decision of the main opposition figures was reached at a high-level meeting held a few days ago where the influential political actors resolved that the ADC presents the most viable structure for their united front.

Soluade said the Party across the Country will start a crucial meeting to brief its members and carry them along as the negotiation continues.

He said the Ogun State meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 4th of June and it’s to be held at June 12 Campos Secretariat Itoko Abeokuta.

Salient Times reports that the meeting is the climax of more than six months of consultation and negotiation involving the ADC team, other like-minds, leaders of the coalition across the country on the planned all inclusive movement to confront the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next general election.

Otunba Femi Soluade said What happened at the National Headquarter of ADC today is a referendum of the position of coalition ideology that birthed and Christian its first child and birthed the first fruit where the Anambra State Governorship Candidate of Labour Party, John Chuma Nwosu and his Deputy Ndubuisi Nwobu from PDP strength was given a certificate of return in the forth coming staggered election in Anambra State.

ADC urged all Coalition Partners to come together and grace the occasion on Wednesday 4th at June Twelve Campus Itoko Road Abeokuta.
