Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ketu Zone of Imeko-Afon Local Government Area have unanimously endorsed Hon. Jemili Akingbade Adigun as the party’s consensus candidate for the Imeko-Afon State Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of a strategic meeting held on May 1, 2026, at St. Patrick College, Imeko, where party elders and key figures gathered to deliberate on unity and electoral strategy.
The Ketu Zone, which comprises Imeko, Okeagbede Moriwi, Ilara, Iwoye, Idofa, and Kajola Agberiodo wards, said the decision aligns with the directive of the party’s apex leadership on consensus building.
According to the communiqué, the stakeholders unanimously adopted the position of state leaders affirming Akingbade Adigun as the party’s standard-bearer, describing the decision as binding on all members.
The leaders expressed confidence in Akingbade’s capacity, describing him as “a loyal party man, grassroots mobiliser, and bridge-builder with a proven record of community development.”
They noted that his emergence reflects equity, competence, and the strategic interest of the APC to retain the constituency seat.
The communiqué further directed ward chairmen, executives, youth and women leaders, as well as party faithful across the zone, to align with the resolution and begin full-scale mobilisation for Akingbade Adigun and Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola ahead of the polls.
Reaffirming their loyalty to the APC leadership, the stakeholders pledged unwavering support for Governor Dapo Abiodun and the state party chairman, while also backing the governorship aspiration of Senator Adeola.
They equally expressed support for Gboyega Nasir Isiaka for the House of Representatives, as part of a broader strategy to secure electoral victories for the party at all levels.
The group called on the State Working Committee to take note of their resolution and provide the necessary support to strengthen internal cohesion and democratic processes within the party in Imeko-Afon.
The communiqué concluded that the resolution was adopted without dissent, reflecting the collective will of APC leadership in the Ketu Zone, with optimism that Akingbade Jemili would deliver quality representation and further strengthen the party’s foothold in the area.
