Caleb University, Imota, Lagos State has restated its commitment to security on its campus.
The university in a statement signed by Olawale Adekoya, Information, Media and Publication Specialist on Sunday said the university will also continue to consolidate its profile as a safe, serene and learner-friendly institution.
The statement was in reaction to an alleged breach of security on the campus on Saturday.
The university said that contrary to some fears being expressed in some quarters, the security patrols on the campus were aimed at enhancing security.
Read the statement below:
In the early hours of Saturday, July 15, three phones and one laptop were stolen by two yet-to-be-identified persons at Susannah Hall, an incident to which campus security swiftly responded and retrieved a stolen laptop. The security apparatus meanwhile is working closely with police authorities to investigate the incident and apprehend the culprits. No student was attacked.
The false alarm which followed security patrols in the evening, was dispelled when students and parents were assured that it was part of the measures to enhance security.
The campus remains peaceful, and students are in their respective hostels, while those who have completed their examinations have started going home.
Caleb University will continue to consolidate its profile as a safe, serene and learner-friendly institution which places high premium on the security of lives and property.
