President Bola Tinubu has invited Guinea’s leader and president, Mamadi Doumbouya, for a state visit to Nigeria following a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Africa CEO Forum in Kigali, Rwanda.

The development was disclosed on Thursday by the president’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Sunday Dare, while briefing journalists after the day’s engagements.

The ongoing Africa CEO Forum in Kigali, Rwanda, as a community has over 2,500 decision-makers engaged in executive dialogues, open debates and negotiations to address how shared ownership can be advanced to achieve scale.

The annual summit of the Africa CEO Forum is the largest international meeting of the African private sector

According to Dare, both leaders discussed prospects for economic cooperation, particularly in Guinea’s vast mineral and metals sector, which holds significant opportunities for partnership with Nigeria.

“The President had a fruitful meeting, and you know Guinea is in debt to our president; he got some very good advice.

“Very soon, on the invitation of President Tinubu, he is likely to visit Nigeria,” Dare said.

Doumbouya, who recently secured victory in Guinea’s presidential election with 86.2 per cent of the vote, is currently overseeing the country’s transition towards civilian democratic governance.

Dare said the meeting opened a fresh chapter for bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Guinea, especially in the area of mining and natural resources.

“Guinea has a lot of potential, metals, minerals, and so on.

“The opening for partnership between Nigeria and Guinea has been opened.

“The possibilities are great, and I’m sure we will see that develop in the days and years ahead,” the president’s aide added
