Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daisi Elemide, has called on residents of the state to embrace unity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence as Christians across the world celebrate Easter.

In his Easter message made available to newsmen today by the Speaker’s Media Aide, Kunle Idowu, Elemide described the season as a sacred period that symbolizes hope, renewal, and the triumph of light over darkness, urging citizens to reflect on the virtues of love, humility, and selflessness exemplified by Jesus Christ.

The Speaker noted that Easter offers a profound opportunity for individuals and communities to renew their faith and commitment to building a more harmonious society, regardless of religious, ethnic and political differences.

He emphasized that the lessons of the season remain timeless, stressing that perseverance, faith, and resilience are critical in overcoming life’s challenges and achieving lasting transformation.

Elemide reaffirmed the commitment of the Ogun State House of Assembly to further enacting laws and policies that would enhance the welfare and prosperity of the people,assuring “the State legislature remains focused on supporting the state’s developmental strides”

The Speaker urged residents to draw strength from the message of Easter by supporting one another and extending hands of fellowship to the less privileged in society.

He also encouraged youths in the state to remain hopeful and channel their energies into productive ventures that would contribute to the growth and development of Ogun State and Nigeria at large.

The lawmaker called on leaders at all levels to imbibe the principles of servant leadership, stressing ” Easter serves as a reminder of the need to prioritize the welfare of the people above personal interests.

Elemide further urged citizens to use the period to offer prayers for peace, stability, and continued progress in Ogun State and the country.

He commended the resilience and industrious nature of Ogun residents, describing them as key drivers of the state’s reputation as a hub of excellence and opportunities.

The Speaker also stressed the importance of strengthening family and community bonds during the festive period, encouraging residents to use the occasion to foster love and unity.

While wishing Christians a joyous celebration, Elemide advised residents to celebrate responsibly and adhere to safety measures and the rule of law ,throughout the festivities.

He expressed optimism that the spirit of Easter would inspire renewed hope, courage, and determination among the people to overcome challenges facing the nation.

“Let us move forward with courage and determination.With togetherness we can achieve greater heights,” he stated.

Elemide concluded by extending his warmest wishes to Christians and all residents of Ogun State, praying that the blessings of Easter bring peace, joy, and abundant grace to every home.
