NWFL2024/25: Odoma Delighted Over Edo Queens 5-0 Victory Season Opener

Edo Queens mercurial midfielder Amarachi Odoma Cordelia said if her team can be concentrated, they will reclaim the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) title.

Amarachi Odoma stated this during a chat with journalist on Thursday.

Edo Queens began their title defence with a resounding 5-0 victory over Abia Angels in the season opener of the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL)

The defending champions were ruthless as goals from Miracle Usani, Emem Essien, Goodness Osigwe, Loveth Edet and Kafayat Mafisere respectively completed the rout over the Umaiha based side.

When she was asked if the resounding victory will serve as confidence boost for the team. Odoma noted that it was a step to it, noting that the league has just started with a lot of challenges ahead.

“Well, is the step to it because the league just started and there will be a lot of challenges” she said.

She reiterated that, with full concentration the title can be reclaimed, saying national call up and other distractions cannot derail their ambitions to win the title back.

” I mean national call up and other distractions that comes in but if we concentrate and put our head straight I believe we will reclaim the title”

Amarachi Odoma however expressed her delight and very proud to be part of the team.

“Very much happy and proud to be part of this great team”

Edo Queens will be aiming to continue their impressive form into the season in the upcoming fixtures of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL)
