City took the game to their opponents from the start to the end of the game, and City’s pressure paid off early, as talented City striker Kalu Daniel, mesmerised beyond limits defense, before laying a delicious low cross for Chulwidi Ekeocha, who finished brilliantly, with a low shot, that beat Beyond Limits goalkeeper, to put city ahead.

Beyond limits didn’t want to lie down and get rolled over, they came out to fight for an equaliser, but city stood their ground and made sure they killed off their opponents, with the second goal, scored by Monday Emmanuel and well assisted by Kalu Daniel. City went into the break with a well deserved first half lead.

The second half was totally explosive as the first half, as both teams attacked each other very well with some display of fine football to the delight of the fans, but all efforts by beyond limits to get something from the game, proved abortive, as city stood their ground to end the game with a clean sheet.

Speaking after the game, Man of the match, Kalu Daniel, said it’s an important victory because we played against one of the best teams in the NNL.

“I want to thank God for this well deserved victory. It’s purely the handwork of God, because we played a very good team, but, we were better today and it was very glaring for everyone to see, and this victory will further boost our morale going into our next game”, he said.

“The team spirit is very rich, we played for each other and the support from the management and fans was totally incredible, we appreciate all of them and by the special grace of God, we continue to put smile on their face with more victories and end the season with an NPFL ticket”, he concluded.

Smart City has now bagged six points from two games and will hope to get a positive result when they clash with Warri Wolves in their next game in the NNL.
