Again, aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Alagbagba ward, Odeda Local Government area of Ogun State have appealed to the Party leadership in the State to wade Into the Councillorship primary in the ward, insisting that the choice of Alhaja Kelani Opeyemi Rofiat is not negotiable.
Leading the protest are leaders of the APC and community leaders from all the three zones of the ward, reiterating their unhappiness over the way the Primary was hijacked by some leaders, stealing the mandate freely given to their choice candidate giving the slot to a non committed member of the community.
These leaders who are protesting the alleged imposition of councillorship candidate on the people said the APC leadership should listen to the wishes of the people and allow Alhaja Kelani Opeyemi Rofiat who is the choice of the people flag the Party’s flag in the November 16, local government election.
Specifically, the leadership, while meeting the local government leadership said it’s unfortunate that Alhaja Kelani Opeyemi Rofiat who has been a very loyal Party person, and who have shown interest for four times, but yet remain steadfast with the Party.
The leaders said being a woman who according to the United Nations 35% affirmation, and the position of the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, that women should be given maximum support to achieve their political aspirations.
“From what was done during the primary, it seems these people decided to deal with Alhaja Kelani Opeyemi Rofiat because she is a woman, and these is very unfair to women every Party leaders must condemn the action, while we call for the return of the ticket brazenly taken away from her back.
