…Assures Residents’ Of Improved Standard Of Living
The immediate past Chairman of Odeda Local Government, Dr (Mrs) Folasade Adeyemo has stated that her three years in office witnessed several livelihood programmes geared towards boosting household economy in local Communities of the local government.
Hon Adeyemo made this known while recounting her achievements in her three years in office at an interactive session with some selected Journalists in Abeokuta.
She promised to leverage on her achievements as she showed her interest to recontest as Chairman of Odeda Local Government in the November 16 local government elections.
She explained that Odeda Local Government under her leadership had carried out development projects cutting across sectors such as Health, Education, Environment, Youths empowerment and Social Infrastructure, including road rehabilitation, and Agriculture.
The immediate past council boss disclosed that several roads in the Council area had been given face-lift, while many youths and women were empowered with skills as part of efforts to reduce unemployment.
Tagging her focus GBAYI mantra, She said, “With the level of deficit infrastructure that we met, it was necessary for us to have a vision and narrow down our needs into these Five acronyms. I have been privileged to have served in various capacities in the local government and different Boards, before taking up the mantle of the chairmanship. So I gained one or two experiences and was prepared for the office that if given the mandate, I would want to do things differently.
‘”Serving as the first female Executive Chairman of Odeda Local Government had been an honour and a journey filled with both challenges and triumphs.
the trust and support were the cornerstone of our administration while it lasted. It is the feedback from people and active participation that drove our initiatives and fueled our determination to serve.
“When we began the journey three years ago, we set out with a clear vision to enhance the quality of life for all our residents through sustainable development, improved infrastructure and inclusive governance in support of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun program and vision for our dear State.

She then highlighted some of her achievements to include
- Construction of 20 lock up shops at Kila Market, Ilugun Ward.
- Renovation of 20 open stalls at Odeda Market, Odeda Ward.
- Construction of six shops with toilet facilities at Gbonagun, Odo eran Obantoko Ward.
- Construction of Toilet facility in Methodist Primary School, Fadage Opeji Ward.
- Comprehensive renovation of the Administrative block including the Head of Local Government Administration and Treasurer’s offices.
- Renovation of the Legislative building, purchase a new set of chairs and a generating set.
- Construction of pig pens for the purpose of the Local Government Area embarking on piggery.
- Energization of transformer at Irepolere Community in Obantoko, Ward.
- Renovation of the Local Government Secretariat gate.
- Constant grading of rural roads
- Provision of solar lights to the Local Government Education Authority Secretariat.
- Provision of solar lights to the Local Government Secretariat.
- Provision of solar lights to all the ten (10) Wards.
- Provision of functional Borehole at Segile Villaage in Itesi Ward.
- Provision of functional Borehole at Odeda Central, Odeda Ward.
- Provision of Borehole at Otere, Ogunkola.
- Provision of Borehole Ijemo Fadipe in Alagbagba Ward.
- Repair of Borehole at Iyanbu Village, Obantoko Ward.
- Repair /Resuscitation of Borehole within the Local Government Secretariat.
- Provision of functional Borehole at Tejoun Village, at Alabata Ward.
- Provision of functional Borehole at Okedi Village, Obete Ward.
- Provision of functional Borehole to Balogun Lanloko in Opeji Ward
- Facilitate the renovation of the Health Centre at Bode Olude in Opeji Ward by Major General Ariyibi – ongoing.
- Facilitate the reconstruction of Olugbo Health Centre by Major General Adeyinka-ongoing.
- Provision of renewable energy to the Chairman office:
- Purchase of the Revenue bus for the Local Government.
- Provision of farm inputs to farmers
- Total overhauling of the Local Government grader.
- Medical outreach program in conjunction with the Shalom Medical Mission, USA.
- Provision of two motorcycles for the so-safe security agents
- Provision of wheelchairs to the physically challenged and to some health centres.
- Provision of cash materials and food support/ palliative to the Aged, widow, youths, women and various NGOs within the Local Government.
- Provision of support to triplets, baby of the year, drugs and other astringents of our Health Centre.
- Road maintenance along Obantoko-Kotopo area.
- Resuscitate the hand driving Borehole at Aso rock Area in Obantoko.
- Provision of Generating sets to Health Centre Olodo.
- Vocational training for young women on adire Value Chain.
- Vocational training for women on liquid soap making, Insecticides, air freshener e.t.c.
- Provision of exercise books and other writing materials to pupils of Primary Schools.
- Facilitate youth training by National Institute for freshwater
Fisheries Research, New Bussa.
She then attributed her achievements to God, the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, all the political leaders from the local government, and the dedicated team that worked with her
Speaking on her bid to recontest as the Chairman of the Local government, Hon Folasade Adeyemo emphasized her continued resolve to serve the community and build on the foundations laid during her first tenure.
“Together, I believe we can achieve even greater heights and bring about lasting positive change for all residents of our local government,” she declared.
She requested the continued support and partnership of her party members as they embarked on the next chapter of development for Odeda Local Government.
