A fire incident, on Sunday, gutted a ten-storey building on Broad street in Lagos Island.

According to Margaret Adeseye, director of the Lagos Fire and Rescue Service, the firestorm started on the first floor and got to the fourth floor.

She said officers of the fire service from Ebute Elefun and Sari Iganmu stations were swiftly deployed to the scene of the incident.

Adeseye said the cause of the fire incident is yet unknown, adding that no casualty was involved in the inferno.

Last year, fire gutted the Ladipo plank market on Iganmu road, Orile area of the state.

Before that a three-storey building located at Dosunmu Street, Lagos Island, was razed by an inferno before the quick intervention of the fire rescue team.
