Family petitions Police Over Act Likely To Cause Breach Of Peace, Forceful Entry, Occupation

Four Police Officers allegedly being used by suspected land grabbers were on Monday arrested by Ogun State Command of Nigeria Police Force.

The arrest followed a petition written by the Family of Aidokun-Ogbo Family of Ewupe, Ogun State alleging the use of Police officers by some land speculators to harass some land owners in the Ota area of Ogun State.

The arrest which was effected by the Police from Mopol 16 saw the arrest of three out of the four officers engaged by one Yusuf Ajibode, Karimu Ajibode, Chief Rami Ajbode, Chief M.A. Ajibode and John Ayinde, a group of suspected land grabbers.

Meanwhile, the Aidokun Family of Ewupe in Ogun State has petitioned the Inspector General of Police over the roles of suspected land speculators in connivance with some police officers to cause crisis through their illegal activities.

In a petition written by El-Shagala Consults, a legal and Security Consultant, who wrote the petition on behalf of Dauda Gbadamosi, Prince Sadiku Obalanlege, Yisa Akinbotede and Muraina Abatan all of Aidokun-Ogbo Family of Ewupe in Ogun State, called for the intervention of the Inspector General of Police in the crisis.

The petitioner accused Yusuf Ajibode, Karimu Ajibode, Chief Rami Ajbode, Chief M.A. Ajibode and John Ayinde of using Police to harass the Aidokun Family of Ewupe, claiming to have obtained a Court judgement in their favour.

“On behalf of Dauda Gbadamosi, Prince Sadiru Obalanlege, Yisa Akinbotede and Muraina Abatan all of Aidokun-Ogbo Family of Ewupe in Ogun State, whose fundamental human right have been trampled upon by the aforementioned person with a threat to eliminate them over their rightful property.

“The aforementioned took Dauda Gbadamnosi and co from high court to appeal and supreme court respectively and the judgement favoured the latter in the land dispute that spanned several decades.

“However, not satisfied on abreast defendants/appellants took law into their hands and forcefully entered into the
land which hitherto the court has ordered them not to trespassed into and have threatened to deal with any person(s) who visited tne land.

The family said “in order to prevent the breach of peace and any conduct that may Likely cause same. We are appealing to the lGP, DIG FCID to intervene matter, let the police legal department read the court judgment and do the needful so that whoever is at faut be dealt with according’y
of reference.
