A suspected serial thief was allegedly caught at the Jubril Aminu Hall of Residence in the Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto, while students were away for Jumu’ah prayer on Friday, October 20, 2023.

The suspect identified as ‘Daniel’ was found in possession of a bag filled with food items he stole after burgling Block B, room 19, at the Jubril Aminu Hall of Residence.

During interrogation, he initially claimed to be a 100-Level student also in the Biological Science Department, returning from home.

However security personnel said he was the individual who had allegedly burgled rooms in Blocks C and D two weeks ago, as the bag he stole there was retrieved from him without denial.

The suspect, however, managed to escape the scene, eluding capture.

His case is currently under investigation.
