Ebonyi Govt Gifts 15 Official Cars To Ward Councilors, 4 Motorcycles To Security Aides

Ebonyi State Government has gifted 15 units of Toyota Corolla official cars to the 15 ward councillors and 4 motorcycles to security aides in Ohaukwu LGA.
The council boss, Hon. Ikechukwu Odono Onwe, who disclosed at the council headquarters, 135, Ezzamgbo said, while briefing journalists, the gesture of goodwill was to appreciate the beneficiaries for their hard work and dedication to their duties.
He equally added that mobility plays a vital role in the course of the discharge of their professional duties as well.
It’s noteworthy that Ohaukwu has 15 electoral wards and each of the lawmakers got their share of the gift.
The Chairman also commended Ebonyi State Governor, Rt Hon. Bldr Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and the immediate past Governor, Engr David Umahi for their support and for making it possible for all the Councilors in Ohukwu to be part of this gesture of becoming car owners.
The chairman said ‘This is the first of its kind, I celebrate you for giving these latest Toyota Corolla cars to the Councilors, and four motorcycles to security aides. Honestly, they have been doing very appreciably well.
Earlier we had shared 50 units of motorcycles with neighbourhood watch security and the others, and today, we decided to add more four motorcycles for them to use against hoodlums and to curb crimes and criminalities in the area’.
The Commissioner for Capital City Development, Hon. Sunday Inyama, expressed joy over the car gifts to the Councilors, he noted its ongoing project in all 13 local governments and added that Ohaukwu LGA is the first to have distributed complete 15 Vehicles to 15 wards, while others LG distributed in batches.
He, therefore thanked Governor Nwifuru and immediate past Governor David Umahi for giving them the opportunity and support to make it happen.
Sunday Inyima advised all the Councilors to continue doing their good work, because this gift was to enhance their capability, and efficiency and urged them to use their car gifts judiciously.
One of the car beneficiaries, Councilor Okenya Ifeanyi Donard, representing Effium Ward 1, thanked Governor Nwifuru and the local government chairman for their efforts in gifting the 15 ward councillors cars.
He further added that the purpose of the car gift to them was to appreciate their excellent performance in discharging their duties in their various wards.
