Concern families appeal to agencies to scrutinize typographical errors in their documents
An appeal has been made by some concern families who have been facing
difficulties in recent time regarding typo-graphical errors and or blunders made by the statutory agencies saddled with the
responsibilities of handling sensitive documents to be very watchful and scrutinize all documents before issuance to the public.
A victim of the said negligence, one Onanuga Khadijat Esther who was devastated while speaking over the telephone with one of our correspondents alleged that there was a typo-graphical error in the Certificate of birth issued to her daughter; Miss Akindele Oyindamola Dorcas by the body saddled with the responsibility.
She further decried that this error in the certificate has caused untold hardship to her and her daughter who suffered psychological trauma since the error was pointed out in the documents submitted with her visa application.
In a similar reaction, one Yakubu Mariam Yetunde accused the National Identity Management Commission of misrepresenting her date of birth in the National Identity Number Certificate issued to her.
She said several attempts have been made by her in order for the NIMC t to correct the blunder but, nothing serious has been done.
She said she has visited the State Office of NIMC in Ibadan, Oyo State capital to
effect the amendment and the procedural steps has been taking but it’s
like taking forever for the body to issue another certificate with correct details to her.
Also, a human right Crusader, Jide Morinfol aappealed to the authorities to scrutinize prepared documents and make
sure that they are rid of errors before issuing to Nigerians.
