The hitherto calm, peaceful home of Chief Adebola Abayomi who died in November, 2022 was thrown into confusion recently following devastating fracas among the family members of Chief Abayomi Adebola and his only surviving Son, Adebola Sesan Ayo.

The residents of the street which housed the vast estate of the late Adebola are yet to come to terms what befell the Estate in which family house of Late Adebola was destroyed.

The actions of Adebola Sesan Ayo Uncles would certainly make the Late patriarch turning in anger and utter disappointment wherever he is now. It was learnt that he did everything to ensure that his family remained together when he joined his ancestors.

In the wake of the fatal attack of the only surviving Son of Late Adebola, Sesan Ayo Adebola, many of the property in the house were destroyed while Adebola Sesan Ayo mother, and the widow of the late Chief Adebola narrowly escaped been lynched by the attackers.

It was gathered that the siblings of Late Adebola led by his younger brother, Mr Adebola Craig have been at daggers drawn since the Will of late Chief Adebola Abayomi was read to the family members.

According to findings by our reporters, the contents of the Will which were revealed by the family lawyer, Mr Kunle Adebogun did not go down well with some family members who alleged conspiracy and manipulations.

From our findings, we learnt that late Adebola Abayomi Will his properties including the said damaged family house to his surviving son, Adebola Sesan Ayo. It was also confirmed that the family at different occasions tried to seize the documents relating to the properties from Adebola Sesan Ayo, a situation that often led to fracas and destruction of properties, with varying degrees of injuries accompanying the attack.

According to a source close to the family, the late patriarch had three children, two died in a mysterious way, leaving only Adebola Sesan Ayo to inherit the vast Estate of late Chief Adebola Abayomi.

The source who does not want his name in print told our reporters that there have been skirmishes between the family members and Adebola Sesan Ayo, especially between Adebola Craig and Chief Adebola Sesan Ayo since the demise of the Chief Adebola father.

An extended family member, Mr Aremu Olubiyi who claimed to be present when the Will was read, narrated how it all started.

According to him, the family felt they were shortchanged in the Will, rejected the bequest accusing their cousin and his mother of influencing the outcome of the Will.

“They were visibly angry and mandated the ‘favoured’ son to submit the document for majority of the properties to them so that they could give some to the extended family members accordingly but Adebola Sesan Ayo refused insisting that his father’s testament would remain unchanged. That is how the crisis started.”

Mr Olubiyi expressed disappointment that the family could be fatal in wanting to take what does not belong to them, fighting the innocent boy in spite of the way the late uncle treated them while alive.
