•Pledges Massive Grassroots Mobilisation for Tinubu’s Re-election
•Says Opposition Coalition Poses No Threat to APC Victory
A political support group in Ogun State, the Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM), has donated N1 billion and unveiled 27 branded campaign buses to bolster the 2027 governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Adeola under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement was made during the official inauguration of the group held at Ake Palace Pavilion in Abeokuta, where party stakeholders and supporters gathered in large numbers to witness the event.
Convener of the group, Armstrong Akintunde, said the financial support and vehicles would be deployed for campaign logistics and grassroots mobilisation across the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Akintunde, who also inaugurated the state executive members of YPM led by Hon. Olusegun Kaka, described the initiative as a strategic move to ensure the emergence of Adeola as the next governor of Ogun State.
He further declared that the group is committed to delivering overwhelming electoral support for President Bola Tinubu in his re-election bid, boasting that Ogun would record the highest votes in the South-West region.
“This is not about an individual; it is about securing the future of Ogun State. Senator Solomon Adeola represents competence, continuity, and a proven track record,” Akintunde said.
He added that the group’s support is rooted in confidence in Adeola’s leadership capacity and alignment with the developmental strides of the current administration.
According to him, opposition coalitions seeking to challenge the ruling party would not succeed in disrupting APC’s dominance in the state or the region.
“Our leader has given us a clear mandate. We are prepared, and we are confident that Ogun State will deliver the highest number of votes in western Nigeria,” he stated.
Akintunde also commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for what he described as impactful leadership, particularly in infrastructure development and maintaining peace across the state.
He noted that the group’s support for Adeola is aimed at sustaining and consolidating the achievements of the current administration.
Highlighting the evolution of the movement, Akintunde said YPM had grown through different phases, including DACA and Omoluabi, before emerging in its present structure.
“This journey reflects our unity and determination to mobilise the people of Ogun State toward achieving our party’s objectives, especially decisive victories in future elections,” he added.
In his remarks, the group’s coordinator, Hon. Olusegun Kaka, described the inauguration as a symbol of collective commitment to unity, progress, and shared political vision.
He urged members to remain focused and committed to the goals of the movement while strengthening internal cohesion ahead of the polls.
Kaka emphasized the need for sustained engagement with grassroots communities, noting that effective mobilisation would be key to electoral success.
The event attracted several prominent political figures and stakeholders, including former Deputy Governor Senator Adegbenga Kaka and other notable leaders within the APC.
