The lingering crisis within the Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, appears to have been resolved following a reconciliation between Governor Hyacinth Alia and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.

Salient Times reports that the peace meeting was convened at the instance of President Bola Tinubu, with Governor Alia extending an invitation to Akume for the talks.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the meeting, Alia disclosed that one of the key resolutions reached was for the party to work towards his return to office in 2027.

He also stated that all members of the National Assembly under the APC platform from the state are expected to secure re-election in the next general elections.
