The Super Eagles of Nigeria have maintained their 26th position in the latest FIFA Men’s World Ranking, released on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
Despite a busy March international window, Éric Chelle’s side held firm in the global standings, inspired by a strong showing at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and resilient performances in recent friendlies.
Chelle’s squad played two friendlies in March, defeating Iran 2-1 and drawing 2-2 with Jordan. These results, combined with Nigeria’s impressive AFCON campaign, reinforced their position in the rankings.

Despite these achievements, the Super Eagles remain Africa’s third-best team, behind Morocco (8th) and Senegal (14th), with Algeria and Egypt rounding out the top five African sides.
France reclaimed the number one spot after victories over Colombia and Brazil, overtaking Spain, which was held to a goalless draw by a ten-man Egypt. Argentina, England, Portugal, and Brazil complete the top six.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup set to kick off in June, the next edition of the FIFA Men’s World Ranking will be released on June 10, 2026.
