…Begins Registration Across States, LGAs, Wards
….Odunowo Says Movement Anchored on Competence, Integrity, Progress

A new political movement, the African Action Group (AAG), has formally commenced nationwide registration and grassroots mobilisation as part of what it describes as a determined effort to reclaim and redefine Nigeria’s future and transform its governance architecture.

The group declared its intention to reshape the country’s leadership culture around competence, integrity and measurable progress, insisting that its emergence represents more than the routine formation of another political platform.

In an official national statement, the Founder and National Chairman of the group, Otunba Abdulfalil Abayomi Odunowo, announced that structures are being activated across all states, local government areas, wards and polling units nationwide.

Odunowo described the development as “the beginning of a historic national movement,” stressing that the initiative is designed to lay the foundation for a new governance order.

“This is not just the formation of a political party. This is the foundation of a new future,” he said.

According to him, selected coordinators and stakeholders have been appointed based on their integrity, leadership capacity and demonstrated commitment to national development.

He directed them to immediately activate both digital and grassroots structures within their respective areas of responsibility, adding that additional operational guidelines would be communicated through official channels.

The AAG leader explained that the movement is anchored on three core principles — competence, integrity and progress — which he argued are critical to rebuilding public trust in governance and restoring accountability in public service.

While the group is yet to unveil detailed policy frameworks or sector-specific proposals, Odunowo maintained that its mission is to promote a merit-driven leadership culture rooted in transparency and responsibility at all levels of government.

Political observers note that the emergence of the AAG adds to the growing list of political actors positioning themselves ahead of future electoral cycles in Nigeria.

Analysts, however, caution that beyond registration and mobilisation, the new platform will need to demonstrate ideological clarity, organisational depth and broad national appeal to compete effectively within the country’s complex political landscape.

They argue that sustainable political relevance will depend on the group’s ability to translate its reform rhetoric into coherent policy alternatives and practical engagement with citizens.

For now, the African Action Group appears focused on consolidation at the grassroots, presenting itself as a reform-oriented platform seeking to tap into growing public demand for accountable leadership and governance reform.
