NIS Expresses Willingness To Collaborate With Journalists

Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS Bayelsa State Command has expressed its willingness to collaborate with the United Correspondents Chapel of NUJ and other stakeholders to address issues related to migration and border control.

The Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service, Bayelsa State Command, Mr. F O Atteh, disclosed this when he received a delegation from the United Correspondents Chapel of the NUJ Bayelsa State Council, led by Chairman Comr. Ekaunkumo Amgbare.

Mr. Attah highlighted the command’s role in management of foreigners in Bayelsa State, including those under the ECOWAS regional arrangement.

He further highlighted the command’s efforts to monitor and regulate migrants, ensuring they comply with relevant laws and regulations.

The Comptroller noted that the ECOWAS protocol allows citizens of member states to travel, reside, and work within the subregion, subject to meeting certain requirements.

He mentioned that the command has divisional offices in all local governments, which handle matters related to foreigners.

The Chairman of the United Correspondents Chapel (UCC) of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comr. Ekaunkumo Amgbare, sought to partner with the Immigration Command to promote awareness about the transformative reforms of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

Amgbare commended the Comptroller General of the NIS, Kemi Nanna Nandap, for the reforms and CIS FO Atteh for his exemplary leadership in implementing these reforms in Bayelsa State.

He expressed their commitment to informing the public about these initiatives, which they believe will foster public support.

He requested the command’s support in providing a television set for their office to aid their work, and expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed their commitment to a robust partnership with the Immigration Command.
