The Ogun State chapter of Action Democratic Party, (ADP) has reacted to the protest that rock the State over scarcity of new naira notes barely few hours that the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun visited the State office of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta.
ADP in a release issued in Abeokuta and signed by its Governorship candidate, Hon. Olanrewaju Kazeem Sokunbi said the protest by the angry youths shows that the APC government is not in control in the State.
He condemned the visit to the CBN office by the Governor saying that the visit is purely political and not meant to finding lasting solutions to the crisis on ground.
“When a sitting governor decided to play an ostrich, it really shows that the governor had not been sincere with the people of the State.
ADP said rather for the visit, the governor should have spoken to ‘cabal’ behind the policy implementation of new Naira note, and relief the populace of the effects of the scarcity
“The visit has no effect at all as what we were told was that normalcy will return ‘by Tuesday’, a promise the governor knowns was impossible.
ADP called on electorates to vote out ‘deceptive’ government who continue to play on the intelligence of the people.
“What APC is after is to provoke Nigerians to embark on civil disturbance which they will capitalise on to say they cannot conduct election.
The Party urged Ogun citizens to be at alert and continue to persevere as the ADP led government if voted into office will bring succour to the people.
