Lisa Loring dies after stroke as Hollywood loses 2 actresses in 24 hours
Lisa Loring, the US actress best known as the young Wednesday Addams in the 1960s series ‘The Addams Family’, has died aged 64.
The film star passed away in Burbank, California on Saturday after suffering a “massive stroke”.
In a Facebook post, Laurie Jacobson, Loring’s friend, said prior to her death, the actress had been on life support.
“She had been on life support for 3 days, yesterday, her family made the difficult decision to remove it and she passed last night,” he wrote.
“She is embedded in the tapestry that is pop culture and in our hearts always as Wednesday Addams.”
Chris Carbaugh, Loring’s agent, also confirmed her demise in a statement released on Monday.
“She brought to life one of the most iconic characters in Hollywood history that is still celebrated today,” the statement reads.
“Lisa loved sharing her memories and meeting all her fans across the world.”
The actress was 6 when she took the role of Wednesday Addams, the gloomy, death-obsessed, pigtailed daughter of the Addams family.
The movie star played the role for two years — between 1964 and 1966.
Loring is survived by two daughters, Marianne and Vanessa.
Her death comes less than 24 hours before the passing of Annie Wersching who was best known for her outstanding role as Renee Walker in ’24’.
Wersching died on Sunday in Los Angeles after a battle with cancer.
