In your own interest, stay away from us, LGTBQ members warned

A middle-aged man indigene in Ado Odo-Ota local government area of Ogun State, Kazeem Adagunodo has declared that no son or daughter of the area would be spared if they continue to be members of the controversial Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community in any part of the world.

He added that appropriate security agencies have been alerted to support the effect of the arrest of any one caught indulging in the act in or around the area.

Adagunodo made this disclosure in an exclusive interview with this newspaper at the weekend, declaring that a United Kingdom based Nigerian, Hon. Bankole Idowu Jamiu will continue to face attack and persecution if he did not cease to be member of LGTBQ in United Kingdom, particularly in Scotland.

Jamiu had been facing rejection and series of humiliation since the news of his membership of LGTBQ became public some years back here in Nigeria and his new base in Scotland.

According to Adagunodo, since Jamiu got away from attacks and find solace in the UK, “we had thought the condmnable act is no more with him. But, we have since discovered that contrary has been our position, as he has continued this sinful act, which we are rejecting outrightly as it is against our culture, religion and humanity in this part of the world.”

Jamiu had found solace in the UK some years ago after outsmarting family and friends to join the LGTBQ community in Scotland in order to have a free and unhindered display of his quest, this newspaper investigation gathered.

A picture that has gone viral further lend credence to Jamiu profound association, as he took a picture with some of his LGTBQ members, a development Adagunodo and some other people in Ado-odo-Ota found distasteful as they continue their denoucement of once proud son, brother and friend.

The picture, which checks further revealed was taken during the LGTBQ community public celebration early this year, saw elated Jamiu in happy mood with the other members.

“We know his rights and the family rights, but we cannot allow this shame in this respected family and community. I, and some others have not been keeping mute over this disgusting action.

“We are respected and honoured here in Ado-odo/Ota with high morals and respect for culture in this area, I don’t know when he travelled, because we chased him out of the community, only to see his picture with this gays again in the UK.

“We are condemning his action and advising any man or woman from this area to keep this show of shame secret to appropriate security agencies have been alerted to arrest as we are ready to deal ruthlessly to anyone caught. Let Jamiu stay away from us in his own interest.

”And to further show our determination to put check to this, all appropriate securities including the Police have been notified to support the arrest of Jamiu or anyone caught in the LGTBQ in our area,” Adagunodo declared.
