Gospel singer Dare Melody has buried his wife Adedoyin Odunuga in Lagos.
The funeral service took place on Friday following a wake held on Thursday in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
At the wake, Dare reflected on the profound impact his wife had on his life, describing her as a woman of integrity and honesty whose qualities aligned deeply with his values.
“I try so hard today not to ruin my tomorrow,” he said in Yoruba, recounting conversations with his late wife.
He continued, “I used to tell her, ‘Whatever you hear about me, remember I’m both a musician and a human. Accept me as I am.’
“My wife, Adedoyin, was incredibly truthful and honest, and I am too. I don’t know how to lie. I used to help mend others’ homes, but when the storm hit mine, I couldn’t save it.”
Adedoyin died on October 24 at the age of 47.
She had three children with Dare.
