Rt. Hon.(Comrade) Chinedu Ogah, OON, the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, commissioned a newly constructed building at the Abakaliki Custodial Center for the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) study center.
The commissioning took place yesterday as part of the activities lined up in celebration of his 48th birthday. This noble initiative aims to provide inmates with access to basic education and empower them to transform their lives.
Hon. Ogah’s commitment to improving the welfare of the inmates was further demonstrated through the distribution of food items, toiletries, and cash donations.
In addition to his efforts at the Abakaliki Custodial Center, the lawmaker extended his benevolence to the old people’s home, artisan centers, and motherless babies’ home in Abakaliki.
This remarkable act of generosity by Hon. Chinedu Ogah underscores his dedication to the betterment of society, particularly for those who are often overlooked or marginalized. The establishment of the NOUN study center within the Abakaliki Custodial Center will undoubtedly pave the way for a brighter future for the inmates, offering them a second chance at life through the power of education.
