The much-awaited public discourse on how to rescue the nation’s currency, the Naira, from its current downward plunge is the issue on the front burner this Sunday October 8, 2023 on the popular BOILING POINT ARENA with erstwhile Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr Tunde Lemo, on the podium as Guest Speaker.

Expected to deliver a keynote address at the online interview discourse is one of Nigeria’s foremost monarchs, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Prof Saka Matemilola in his capacity as the Chairman, Boiling Point Council of Royals and Elders.

Dr Lemo, who is also a Reverend gentleman, will take the stage as guest speaker, bringing forth his insights on critical macroeconomic issues, monetary policies, and the current economic management of the CBN, all under the theme “ *Persistent Unstable Macro-economic Environment: Any Way Out* ?”

The BOILING POINT ARENA, now in its 12th installment, is a monthly current affairs programme which has consistently provided a platform for engaging discussions on governance and nation-building, garnering a substantial online following and huge global audience.

The once-in-a-month interview discourse is the brainchild of Dr Ayo Arowojolu, a media professional with a 33-year career spanning the media, banking, and education sectors.

The event will be conducted via Google Meet on Sunday and transmitted live by Sweet 107.1FM, an Abeokuta-based radio station, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

One of the core topics of discussion will be the alarming depreciation of the naira, which has crossed the N1000 per dollar mark.

The former CBN Deputy Governor will dissect the various policy directions and assess the performance of the successive CBN administrations over the past two decades. He will also offer solutions to the challenges that have recently plagued the regulatory bank.

A statement by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the programme, Eddy Ademosu, highlighted that the interview discourse would thoroughly examine the root causes of the prolonged depreciation of the nation’s currency, dating back to the time when the Naira and the US Dollar stood on equal footing.

Mr Ademosu commended the Board and Management of Sweet FM, chaired by the Promoter, Senator Olugbenga Obadara for identifying with worthy causes through partnering with the Boiling Point platform to widen the audience reach through its terrestrial and online channels

BOILING POINT, a news and general interest platform comprises an array of eminent personalities including over 300 Professors, technocrats, industry leaders, High Court Justices, traditional rulers, security top shots, media professionals and several others.

Interested people can join the conversation on Sunday at 8pm via the Google Meet link
