Concerned members of Ladigbolu royal lineage of Agunloye’s family in Oyo town have said that the family has no anointed candidate among those aspiring for the position of Alaafin of Oyo.

The youth while urging those aspiring to be Alaafin not to allow their personal ego and selfish interest to create a crack in the family also called for a resolution that would present a younger person to the kingmakers.

In a statement signed by the group’s coordinator, Lekan Salman Ladigbolu,
All aspirants from the family are eminently qualified but ‘we will appreciate it better if the aged ones among them can step down and play an advisory role to the younger ones in the race.

It was gathered that not less than 50 Princes showed interest in the race.

The group appealed to Governor Oluseyi Makinde to use the same wisdom applied in picking Soun of Ogbomoso to pick the next Alaafin

“Oyo needs an Alaafin that will be an influential member of the society with a highly wired network and intelligence so that the historical community can enjoy rapid transformation in terms of infrastructural and economic development
