Six men have been arraigned before an Itori Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State over alleged conspiracy, stealing, malicious damage and conduct likely to cause breach of peace at Agbogun Village, Obada-Oko.
The defendants, identified as Somoye Damilare, Somoye Temiloluwa, Akanni Ibrahim, Ismail Shokan, Lukman Salami and Azeez Hammed, were charged in suit number MIT/81C/2026 filed by the Commissioner of Police.
According to the charge sheet presented before the court, the accused persons allegedly conspired with others still at large to commit offences including stealing, malicious damage and acts capable of causing breach of peace.
Police prosecutors alleged that the offences were committed between March 18, 2026 and the present date at Agbogun Village within the Itori Magisterial District.
The prosecution further stated that the defendants allegedly stole iron rods valued at N8 million belonging to one Okeowo Tope.
The charge alleged that the act contravened Sections 383 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
In another count, the defendants were accused of unlawfully damaging an iron gate and perimeter fence valued at N2 million, said to be property of the complainant.
The prosecution said the alleged offences were punishable under Sections 451 and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
The defendants were also accused of engaging in conduct likely to cause breach of peace within the community.
During the court proceedings, the charges were read to the defendants, who pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
The court subsequently admitted the accused persons to bail on conditions yet to be disclosed at the time of filing this report.
The matter was thereafter adjourned for further hearing.
