High Chief Olanrewaju Bashorun, popularly known as LARRYBASH, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the House of Representatives seat representing Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general election.
The APC primary election, held on Saturday across the 16 wards in the constituency, recorded a large turnout of party members, delegates, and stakeholders.
Announcing the result at the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Secretariat, the Returning Officer, Dr. Samuel Ibidapo Odukoya, declared that Bashorun secured 17,740 votes to clinch the party’s ticket.
According to the electoral committee, the exercise was conducted peacefully and in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act, with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) monitoring the process.
INEC observers reportedly described the primary as credible, free, and fair, while security agencies maintained adequate presence throughout the exercise to ensure orderliness and voter safety.
The primary attracted party leaders, chieftains, and supporters from different parts of the constituency, reflecting the growing political interest ahead of the 2027 polls.
Many party members attributed the high turnout to Bashorun’s popularity at the grassroots and his long-standing relationship with stakeholders across the constituency.
In his acceptance remarks, Bashorun thanked party leaders, delegates, and supporters for entrusting him with the mandate to fly the APC flag in the forthcoming election.
He pledged to pursue an issue-based campaign centred on development, effective representation, youth inclusion, and unity across Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency.
The APC candidate also called on party members to remain united and committed to the collective goal of retaining the constituency for the ruling party in the next general election.
Political observers say the emergence of Bashorun has further intensified political activities within Ogun State, particularly in the Ado-Odo/Ota axis, regarded as one of the state’s most strategic federal constituencies.
Party stakeholders at the event expressed confidence that the APC would consolidate its support base in the constituency ahead of the 2027 elections.
