These developments have reinforced confidence in the administration’s reform-oriented policies, particularly within the oil-producing region, where strategic decisions are translating into increased opportunities and improved fiscal outcomes for States.

Delivering remarks during the Official Inauguration of the State Executive Council and the Unveiling of the State Secretariat of the City Boy Movement, Bayelsa State Chapter, the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri Ph.D, reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to revitalizing the petroleum industry as a major driver of national development.

He stated that “the Renewed Hope reforms are restoring stability and credibility within the oil sector, encouraging investment and improving production outcomes.” According to him, “these strategic interventions have strengthened national revenue streams, leading to improved FAAC allocations and increased 13 percent derivation benefits to oil-producing States, including Bayelsa.”

The event further highlighted the growing resolve among progressive actors to deepen public understanding of government initiatives, particularly at the grassroots level where policy impacts are most directly felt. The City Boy Movement was acknowledged for its role in mobilizing support and creating awareness about the administration’s economic direction, while fostering constructive civic engagement among citizens.

In demonstrating solidarity with the Movement’s objectives, Sen. Lokpobiri expressed firm support for its programmes and outreach efforts designed to enhance communication with Bayelsans.

He emphasized that Bayelsa will continue to promote the ideals of the Renewed Hope agenda, with assured support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, come 2027, which requires collaboration among all who share a vision of inclusive development, economic stability, and sustained national progress.
