Beyond academics, Engr. Oludotun professional experience spans both the private and public sectors. He rose through the ranks at Unistar Hi-Tech Systems Ltd in Lagos to become General Manager before venturing into public service.

His technical contributions were also evident during his time as a member of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) Metering Code Panel, where he played a role in shaping regulatory frameworks within the power sector.

His performance earned him further trust, leading to his appointment as Commissioner for Forestry in 2023 under the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun.

Under his leadership in the Ministry of Forestry, significant milestones have been recorded. These include exceeding 85% of the ministry’s 2025 revenue target, revitalizing moribund forest reserves such as Oja Odan through Public-Private Partnerships, and leasing over 3,000 hectares of forest land to investors, thereby boosting revenue and creating employment opportunities.

His tenure has also been defined by environmental sustainability initiatives, including large-scale tree planting campaigns and the “One Citizen, One Tree” initiative, as well as partnerships aimed at restoring degraded lands.
