The strategic engagement, held in Abeokuta on Thursday, brought together top leaders and stakeholders of the artisans’ body from across the state. The delegation was led by Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Hon. Kehinde Odeneye, alongside the State President and other senior executives of the association.

Also in attendance were Comrade Ayodele Anthony, members of the League of Presidents representing affiliated artisan groups, four divisional coordinators, State Executive Council members, and local government chairmen of the association.

Welcoming the delegation, the State Coordinator of the Movement, Hon. Olusegun Kaka, described the development as a strong endorsement of the group’s rising influence among grassroots organisations and professional bodies.

Kaka reaffirmed that the Movement remains open to partnerships with individuals and groups committed to progressive political development in Ogun State, noting that the collaboration would strengthen mobilisation efforts across communities.

In a statement issued on Friday by Oluseun Joshua, State Media Director, Yayi Progressives Movement, said the State Coordinator of the Movement, Hon. Olusegun Kaka, affirmed that both the Yayi Progressives Movement and the artisans’ association had resolved to work jointly toward rallying widespread grassroots support for Senator Adeola’s gubernatorial ambition in 2027.

“At today’s meeting, where we formally received the executives of the Artisans Association into the Yayi Progressives Movement, we agreed to collaborate in mobilising broad-based support for Distinguished Senator Adeola as part of our collective assignment toward the 2027 governorship election,” he said.

Reacting, the Convener of the Movement, Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, described the alliance as a milestone in consolidating the group’s position as a formidable grassroots political platform in the state.

He warmly welcomed the artisans and their leadership, expressing confidence that their inclusion would significantly accelerate the Movement’s growth trajectory.

According to Akintunde, the Yayi Progressives Movement currently boasts over 30,000 members, with projections to reach nearly 100,000 supporters before the 2027 general elections.

He reiterated that the Movement’s core objective is to mobilise support for candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across all elective positions, including the presidency, governorship, National Assembly, and State House of Assembly.

Akintunde further commended members and coordinators for their sustained behind-the-scenes efforts, noting that consistent grassroots engagement continues to yield tangible political gains.

As political activities gradually intensify ahead of 2027, the Movement reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive participation, grassroots empowerment, and unity among professional and community groups across Ogun State.

It also called on residents, artisans, youths, and professionals to join what it described as a people-driven platform focused on progressive leadership, collective development, and sustainable political advancement in the state.
