Dr. Amaba Ogbuku, wife of the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and founder of the Dr. Mrs. Amaba Sam Ogbuku Empowerment Foundation, ASOF has expressed her sincere gratitude to Governor Douye Diri, Chief Dr. Obinna also known as Obi Cubana, and the people of Bayelsa State for attending the 68th Ayakoro Festival, Eyal Obeyin.

In a statement, Dr. Ogbuku commended Governor Diri for his remarkable infrastructural development projects, which have transformed Yenagoa City into a modern city and improved the living standards of Bayelsans.

She commended the Governor of Bayelsa State for the showing of love and support to Ayakoro community, asserting that the governor has always availed himself as a guest to her husband the MD of NDDC.

She also thanked South South women for their support and prayers, saying their continuous support has been very encouraging.

Dr. Ogbuku reaffirmed her commitment to supporting women and ensuring they are carried along in development initiatives.

The festival, which celebrates the community’s relocation to its current site in 1958, featured traditional dances, boat regatta, and wrestling competitions.
