Mr. Coker, a retired executive of Mobil, succeeded Chief Shina Luwoye, FCA, who retired from Shell. Other past Presidents of the Summit include Mr. Kehinde Sogunle, former Ogun State Commissioner for Finance; Engr. Tokunbo Odebunmi, mni; Chief Tunji Sunmonu; Mr. Ayo Biobaku; and Mr. Ade Coker, now based in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Adeoye is a lawyer and chartered accountant with about 27 years of professional experience. He is the Founder and Principal Partner of Gbenga Adeoye & Co. A native of Egbaland, Dr. Adeoye hails from Lemo Compound, Erunwon, Egba Ake, through his father, Pa Moses Aremu Adeoye, while his mother, Mrs. Abiagael Adeoye (née Alirat Osunbayo), is from Amigagan Compound, Ita Oje, Gbagura. He is widely known for his strong commitment to the social and economic development of Egbaland, Ogun State, Nigeria, and Africa at large.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Adeoye unveiled a seven-point agenda for his administration. These include updating a comprehensive database of Egba professionals and leaders across Nigeria and the diaspora; uniting old and new members of the Summit; deploying targeted advocacy to attract investments and development projects to Egbaland; mentoring Egba youths for leadership across key sectors; supporting small business owners through training on record-keeping, taxation, and growth strategies; mobilising support for the relocation of the Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences to its permanent site; and creating a platform for corporate organisations to partner with the Summit to improve the ease of doing business in Egbaland.

He also pledged to work towards making the EES a credible go-to institution for investors, while pushing for the establishment of a permanent secretariat for the organisation.

Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chief Taiwo Adeoluwa, charged the new President to prioritise unity and inclusiveness among members, while urging members to regularise their membership on or before March 31, 2026. He also thanked the host of the AGM, Engr. Tokunbo Odebunmi, for his hospitality.

The AGM was attended physically and virtually, with members in the diaspora joining online. Notable participants who joined virtually included Chief Shina Luwoye, Alhaji Egbeyemi, and Dr. Kehinde Sogunle.

In his contribution, Captain Okesanjo stressed the need for the Summit to shift focus from social engagements to core economic activities, a position supported by Builder Biodun Karunwi and Engr. Odebunmi.

Members also paid special tribute to Engr. Ola Sobande, a founding pillar of the Summit, for his enduring commitment and support, despite being over 70 years old.

Dr. Adeoye, while thanking God for the 196-year existence of Egbaland and appreciating past leaders of the Summit, described his emergence as the beginning of a new era. He assured members that his leadership would be anchored on professionalism, passion, and service, and invited members to a New Year celebration at his residence on January 1, 2026.

The meeting ended with members expressing optimism about the future of the Egba Economic Summit and renewed commitment to the prosperity of Egbaland.
