The 24th Annual Conference Gala Night of the African Real Estate Society (AfRES) was held in grand style at The Oriental Hotel, Lagos, chaired by the Proprietor of Caleb Group of Schools and University, Dr. Oladega Adebogun.

In a statement issued by Olawale Adekoya, Information, Media and Publication Specialist, said the event spotlighted the critical role of sustainable and inclusive development in shaping Africa’s urban future.

The keynote address, delivered on behalf of the Proprietor, Dr. Adebogun, by the Vice Chancellor of Caleb University, Prof Olalekan Asikhia, served as a powerful call to action.

Framing the theme, “Building for the Future: Sustainable, Inclusive, and Prosperous African Communities,” Dr. Adebogun charged the gathering of Africa’s foremost real estate minds to be architects of a better tomorrow.

He identified Africa’s rapid urbanization as both an unprecedented challenge and a golden opportunity.

“We are the custodians of the land and the shapers of the skylines,” he stated, urging the industry to move beyond mere construction.

He outlined a three-fold mandate: to embrace green technologies for sustainability, to champion affordable housing and inclusivity for women and youth, and to design spaces that catalyse economic prosperity.

The evening was also a celebration of excellence, the immediate past President of AfRES, ESV Dr. Adekunle Awolaja, who welcomed the global practitioners to the event, presided over an award ceremony that recognized outstanding contributions in both scholarship and industrial impact, underscoring the sector’s commitment to nurturing talent and innovation.

The gala night, therefore, successfully fused high-level discourse with celebration, reinforcing the collaborative spirit essential for building the vibrant, thriving African communities envisioned by the keynote address.
