The wife of the Honourable Member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Chief Mrs. Mary Chinedu Ogah has urged women to remain grounded in virtue and avoid being carried away by materialism.
Mrs Ogah, however joined women across six Catholic parishes in Ikwo Local Government Area in celebration of the 2025 August Meeting held on Sunday, August 31st.
In her address at Holy Cross Parish, Okpuitumo, and St. Elizabeth Parish, Item Amagu, she emphasized the importance of prioritizing family values and the responsibilities of motherhood.
She also took the opportunity to commend the First Lady of Ebonyi State, Her Excellency Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudlin Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru for her unwavering dedication to the empowerment of women in the state, noting that her leadership has elevated the status of Ebonyi women on the global map.
Chief Mrs. Ogah was ably represented at other parishes by Chief Mrs. Nwanchor Chinedu and Lady Margaret Ezaka, who delivered her goodwill messages. They encouraged women to live morally upright lives, guide their children away from negative influences, and remain steadfast in faith and service to their communities.
She further called on the women to support her husband, Rt. Hon. (Comrade) Chinedu Ogah, OON, in his efforts to foster development across the constituency. She also stressed the importance of civic engagement, urging all eligible citizens to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) and National Identification Number (NIN) revalidation exercises.
As part of her commitment to supporting the Church and its mission, Chief Mrs. Ogah made a generous financial donation to each of the six parishes visited.
The parishes visited include: Assumption Parish, Amagu Ikwo, St. Elizabeth Parish, Item Amagu, Holy Cross Parish, Okpuitumo, St. Luke’s Catholic Parish, Unuafiukwa, Eka-Awoke, St. Theresa’s Parish, Echialike, Sacred Heart Parish, Alike Ikwo
