A joint security team comprising Police Mobile Force (PMF) operatives, military, and the Nigerian Air Force has successfully neutralised 30 bandits during a gun battle in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The Katsina State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasir Muazu, confirmed the incident, saying the security forces responded swiftly to intelligence reports of a bandit attack on communities of Kadisau, Raudama, and Sabon Layi on Tuesday evening.
Muazu stated, “After intense confrontations, our gallant security forces successfully repelled the attackers, forcing them to retreat.
About 30 criminals were neutralised through the coordinated air strikes while attempting to escape.”
However, the security forces suffered losses during the battle.
Muazu revealed, “We lost three dedicated Police Mobile Force personnel: Insp Suleiman Ibrahim, Insp Bello Bala, and Cpl. Mohammed Lawal, along with a civilian, Aliyu Sa’adu, from Kadisau village.”
He added that two courageous soldiers also paid the supreme sacrifice in Sabon Layi, while one person sustained injuries.
The Commissioner restated the administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property in the state, calling on residents to remain vigilant and provide timely information to security agencies.
“On behalf of the government and the people of Katsina State, I extend our deepest condolences to the families of our fallen heroes and the affected communities.
“Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and their families will receive full government support during this difficult time,” Muazu assured.
