Tinubu meets NSA, Defence Chief amid widespread insecurity

President Bola Tinubu has met with Nuhu Ribadu, national security adviser (NSA), and Christopher Musa, chief of defence staff (CDS), at the State House.

The meeting appears connected to the security concerns in some parts of the country, especially in Benue state and Plateau state.

The president had returned to the country on Monday night after 19 days in France and the United Kingdom.

During his absence from the country, there were reports of killings and abductions in many parts of the country.

Opposition leaders like Atiku Abubakar have expressed concerns over the president’s continued stay abroad “as Nigeria bleeds”.

Since the beginning of the month, many have been killed in some communities in Plateau state.

Benue state also recorded violent attacks as over 50 people were killed in Ukum and Logo LGAs on April 18.
