A 49-year-old Police Sergeant, Constance Mosibudu Sathekge, has been arrested for killing her son,24, and his girlfriend,16, in South Africa.

Sathekge, stationed at Botlokwa Police Station, Limpopo, on Monday, February 17, 2025, appeared in the Morebeng Magistrates’ Court facing two counts of m8rder.

It is alleged that on 13 February 2025, at Botlokwa, the deceased persons, Khutso Sathekge (son) and Naledi Mmonwa (girlfriend to Khutso), were shot and k!lled by Khutso’s mother.

Both deceased persons were found with several gunshot wounds and were taken to the hospital. However, they succumbed to their injuries upon arrival.

After the incident, the accused then called the police, and she was immediately arrested. Sergeant Sathekge claimed that the shooting was in self-defence during an argument when Khutso threatened her with a knife.

The matter was postponed to 24 February 2025 for a formal bail application, and the accused remains in custody.
