Lawal’s heroics marked a significant turnaround for ABS, who had conceded 12 goals in their previous seven games, using four different goalkeepers. This achievement was even more impressive considering it was only his second game of the season.

The goalkeeper had already made a positive impact in his first game against Sporting Lagos, where he made several crucial saves, although the team ultimately lost.

“I’m thrilled about the game, and I believe we’ve finally turned the corner,” Lawal exclaimed. “I’m confident that we’ll build on this momentum and secure a positive result in our next away game.”

Lawal attributed the team’s success to their collective determination and ability to learn from past mistakes. “Before the game, we had a heart-to-heart and reflected on our previous errors. This helped us to stay focused and achieve our goal,” he added.
