“We shaved her hair, tied her hands and dragged her into a well nearby,” he narrated.

Mathias added that they later took his mother’s hairs to a shrine so that they could perform money rituals to enable him become rich.

People in Obudu have condemned his action and called on the authorities not to spare the culprits.

One Mr Paul Adoga said the man has no justification to kill his mother for any reasons.

Commenting on his Facebook page, Joe Boy blamed the development on peer pressure.

On the other hand, Victor Akpasen advised that parents should bring up their children with fear of God.

Mr. Akuso Kusam Bahogo, a social influencer, urged people to pray God to grant them the grace to be contented with what they have.

Meanwhile, the police have also arrested the shrine operator.

Police PRO Irene Ugbo said all suspects are awaiting prosecution.
