Recall that darkness befell the city of Ibadan 2 days ago when a stampede occurred at an event organised by Queen Naomi.

The queen, in partnership with media personality Oriyomi Hamzat, was set to feed 5000 children with gifts of 5000 each.

The event became chaotic when the crowd broke down the walls and became uncontrollable.

Following this, Queen Naomi was taken into custody, and details of her arrest are yet to be known

Speaking about the incident, Ooni expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. He showed solidarity with Naomi.

He spoke highly of her character and how she was fond of organising similar events when she was royalty.

This statement was made available by blogger Temilola Sobola on Instagram. It reads, “The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the children who lost their lives in a stampede during the funfair in Ibadan. He also showed solidarity with the ex-queen Naomi by saying she genuinely cared for children and organised similar events at Ile Ife when she was the queen.”

Salient Times recalls that Queen Naomi made a dramatic exit from the Ife palace. She shared details on her Instagram about why she left the place and renounced her position as royalty.

She, however, sparked speculation that the king has a dual personality. He is not what he portrayed himself to be on the outside.
